I still hurt, and probably never will know which of those two variables are the truth. Anyway, tonight I decided to take a relaxing bath to make myself feel better. I had full intentions of reading a book and chilling out to soothing music.
I guess my first problem is that as a shower-taker, I am not skilled in reading while bathing. I was pretty convinced I was going to drop Stephen Fry's Making History right into the tub. My second problem was that I made the water way too hot, so that was this whole ordeal.
But ultimately, the biggest problem probably was my musical selections. I figure most people chose like... whale songs or Enya or something... but the playlist I created for myself was just too engaging to relax around.
The following are some of the songs that made me fail to relax and rest my poor rib joints (or strained muscles), and instead caused me to spend much of my evening singing loudly, totally nude.
Etta James and Harvey Fuqua - "If I Can't Have You"
I like to sing both parts.
Leonard Cohen - "I'm Your Man"
I pretend I'm wearing an old man fedora.
Joanna Newsom - "Good Intentions Paving Company"
This was when I put my quirky hat on.
The whee-oooh-whee-ooooooooh part is the most fun, ever.
Wilson Pickett - "In the Midnight Hour"
There is a lot of shoulder action with this one. And singing along to the horn section.
Rilo Kiley - "I Never"
I get so into this song that I finally got concerned the neighbours could hear me.
There's something wrong with pretending to be Billie Holiday.
Bill Withers - "Lovely Day"
I tried hard to keep up with Bill singing "daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay"... it is impossible.
Anyway, at least my book didn't get soaked.
